The VEB612 is an ebook reader from ViewSonic released in late 2009. The VEB612 features a 6-inch grayscale screen with an 800 x 600 pixel resolution. The viewing angle is nearly 180°, allowing for content to be read in a wide array of conditions.

The E-ink nature of this device allows for a high contrast ratio with zero flickering, which in turn makes reading easy on the eyes. The ViewSonic VEB612 is compatible with a variety of formats including ePub, PRC, PDF, HTML, TXT and MP3 audio files for audiobooks or music. 512MB of memory is built-in, while the maximum capacity can be expanded with SD cards. The internal battery is designed to last 8,000 page turns per charge, reducing the need to constantly charge the device. The ViewSonic VEB612 comes with a leatherette cover, which helps protect the screen from scratches and other damage.
