The device lacks the Kindle's keyboard and wireless functionality, but is significantly lighter and more compact, and available in multiple colors. It uses E-Ink technology to display text, and can store hundreds of PDF-format books in its 1 GB of storage, expandable via SD card. The Cool-er lasts approximately 8000 page turns on one charge. Titles downloaded from the Coolerbooks online store are transferred to the device via USB.
