BeBook

$350.00 Released August, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Wide range of formats. Handles audio files as well, good for audiobooks. E-Ink technology is proven and works.

The Cons:Text reproduction on certain fonts unreadable (sony's is much better). Refresh rate a little slow (between page turns) I turn a real page quicker! No control over horiz/vert view (sony does) only swaps occsasionally on third zoom (sony has 3 zooms on each).

BeBook is an electronic book reader manufactured by Dutch company Endless Ideas BV, and is intended to compete with Sony and Amazon's more popular readers. It's main selling point is the format support which handles everything from PDFs to RAR files.

Product Shot 2 The e-Ink technology is designed for both indoor and outside use and means the battery will last weeks. On the memory side 512 MB is provided internally with more available through the SD memory expansion clot. The BeBook is the same size as a paperback novel, but only 1cm thick and weighs just 220 grams. The display is 6" in size with 600 x 800 resolution. The menu is easy to use and comes with options in 15 different languages. While reading an ebook, you can change the font size with the click of one button, set a bookmark and zoom in and out with ease.
